Topic#2 - From the Journey of man: The genetic Odyssey
Where do the people come from? How can we know that? What are ways they use to find out where we came from? Where is the first place we live when we move to another country? And why do we have to know about who we are?
We have to know about who we are because it tells us why we are who we are today. Its very important for us to know about why we are from different countries.
And how do we know? By analyzing DNA. DNA shows everything about us. From analyzing the DNA of people it shows that the people lived in East Africa in around 60,000 years ago- The first generation of Y-chromosome was [Adam]. And then the people moved to Saudi Arabia across the Mount of the Red Sea The gate of grief -. And they became 2 groups of people here.
First group moved to Australia by traveling through India around 30,000 years ago. And from Sri-Lanka they continue along the India Ocean to western Indonesia then a land mass attached to Australia. From this group they crossed the North Pacific Ocean and passed through Japan and Australia to North America [We called this group M 130 they moved around 50,000 years ago]
And another group moved to northern Saudi Arabia up to the Nile and the Levant [We call this group M 89 they moved around 45000 years ago]
From the M 89 group it took 2 groups here. The first group moved to Europe we call this group M 172 they moved around 10,000 years ago.
And the bigger group moved to the Middle East and divided into 3 groups again.
The smallest group moved to the south to India. The middle group is moved down to Southeast Asia [M 175 35,000 years ago.] They passed through China and finished in Russia [This middle group called M122 10,000 years ago.]. And the last group moved up to Russia [M45 35,000 years ago.] They divided into 2 groups here, the first group moved to Europe [M130 30,000 years ago] and moved back to Kazakhstan [M17 10,000 years ago]
While the European group was moving, the another group moved to Russia [M242 20,000 years ago] and across to Alaska passed through North America to South America [M3 10,000 years ago].
The people finished moving places 8,000 years ago.
That means the people moved from Africa to find a new place to live. Russia is the biggest place for people because every group moved past Russia but Russia is the second newest place The people moved to Russia around 20,000 years ago . And the newest group is the American group because they moved there around 10,000 years ago, except M130 groups because they moved to America across the ocean around 50,000 years ago. Some estimates still use 10,000 years for moving to America. The American history book estimates that the first people found America around 5,000 years ago.
Geneticist Spencer Wells said the first place that the people arrived was America, he said "Our data tells us that we could not have been in the Americas prior to 20,000 years ago, and the most likely date of entry was around 15,000 years ago. This is because the oldest Y-chromosome lineage in the Americas originated in Central Asia 15,000-20,000 years ago, and then migrated to the northeast, across the Bering Strait. If we were still in Central Asia 20,000 years ago, we couldn't have been in the Americas until after that date."
The oldest group is the Australian group because they moved around 60,000 years ago and the people born 150,000 years ago the Homosapien species. But the people that look like original man are the people in Ethiopia, Sudan and southern Africa.
But it all is the history of man Adam. It doesnt mean the history of people because from the history, the woman Eve, shows DNA around 150,000 years ago. But he focuses on men because he said "It turns out that the Y-chromosome gives us two very important clues to the question of how we populated the world. First, it shows us our most recent common ancestor (Adam). This man lived in Africa around 60,000 years ago. The significance of this date is that it means that all modern humans were living in Africa until at least until that time. In other words, within the past 60,000 years - only about 2,000 generations - our species has populated the entire planet. Clearly, we are all very closely related. The second clue provided by the Y-chromosome, concerns the routes we followed in our migrations around the planet. Due to something I describe in the book as 'sexual politics', the male line gives us the best view of the routes followed. So, the Y - a piece of DNA that really doesn't do much more than to make men, men - is one of the best historical documents ever written"
That is his reason "why he wants to find out the history of Adam?"
Also it still looks very different from The Journey of EVE because from the timeline they moved more places than Adam and they moved around 160,000 years ago. That means they used the time for more moves than Adam in 100,000 years!.
What does that mean? Well said that "Women also have a female history written in their mitochondria DNA, showing the path to Eve around 150,000 years ago. For reasons explored in the book, the mitochondria signal turns out to provide less resolution for studies of population history than the Y. Again, it comes down to a long history of sexual politics".
One thing that still looks the same is, in 60,000 years all men and women are moved to Australia in the same time!
That means all of them have some connection for moving places. Maybe it might mean the women moved to West Africa but the man did not.
The other thing that we have to focus on, is in 10,000 years all of them moved to South America and little bit in North America in the same time.
Maybe we can say all of them start at same time and finished at the same time too. But Eve moved more that Adam and also they start in the very early time more that Adam and they also had the trouble about volcanic activity in India and Pakistan at Mt. Toba for 6 years [Around 74,000 years ago].
But whats about Adam in the bible? From "The Journey of man," Well Answered, "It's interesting that both genetics and the Bible show that there is a common origin of humanity. According to genetic data we come from a single male ancestor. In the Bible too it is mentioned that there is a single male Adam and single female, Eve. I don't equate our results one-to-one with the biblical story, of course, because if you count back through the generations described in the Bible, Adam should have existed in 4004 BC, and our Adam existed 60,000 years ago. Also, our Adam and Eve weren't the only people alive at the time, just the lucky ones who left descendants down to the present day. But it is nice to know that we arrive at the same general conclusion: we're all related"
That means we also have relatives between us.
It all means the people born in 150,000 years ago and the man that moved from East Africa 60,000 years ago too. From DNA it shows we moved to Australia first, then moved to the Middle East, India and Asia, next we moved up to Europe and across Russia to Alaska and finish in the last place in America 10,000 years ago.
